Old-time 4th of July

19th Century Willowbrook Village, Elm Street; off Route 1, Newfield, Maine

I'm delighted to be visiting Willowbrook once again.  And thrilled to be celebrating the 4th of July in this gorgeous space. I'll be at the bandstand between 1 and 2 p.m.  Willowbrook will not be charging admission on this holiday; you can just come and enjoy the day.  Two historic houses and their barns, a reproduction schoolhouse and bandstand, and a millpond grace this restored country village. Plan to spend at least 3 hours once you arrive. You could bring a picnic or enjoy lunch on-site at the Sandwich Shop; visit the ice cream parlor or shop in the museum store.  And don't forget to visit the glorious merry-go-round! Songs will include classic American patriotic songs as well as some Civil War specialties in remembrance of the 150th anniversary of the war.

Free day; no admission charged!
